Engine Temperature

Hi there!

I just have my new Scrambler and I have noticed that the engine temperature is significantly higher than those engines water cooled (obvious).

The other day, i got temperatures around 120C (250F). Has anyone got those high temperatures?

Thanks!
Rafa

Sorry, no.. but that depend on me, only been drawing my Scrambler with a few degrees above freezing point.

Thanks for the quick reply sir.tooby,

I guess you meant the boiling point.

No, frezzing point, not inside engine but the surronding temperature. I would guess that the engine works at a little colder engine temp when it's not that hot outside.

Feels strange, but don't bother.

Hotter then water cooled

Greetings,

I have a 2016 GSA that runs at about 185 degrees F and my 2017 Scrambler oil cooled runs at about 215 degrees F and I have seen it as hot as 229 F. My mechanic states as long as it doesn't go above 250 F not to be concern so I'm not.

Cool Engine Temp

I also have a new Scrambler and when traffic is busy my temperature is going very high.
Normally it runs around 118C when I can ride. When I have to stop often for traffic lights or slow riding it goes up to 136C. I even had once 143C when is was very hot outside (30C).
Still doing my first 1000km so I have to go to the garage for the first maintenance.

Thanks
wout
