Suspension Travel

Does anyone else find it odd that the bmw scrambler only has 125mm of suspension travel in the front and 140mm in the rear?

update: the Scrambler features more travel front and rear than the R nineT. Up front, stroke now measures 4.9 in., with the rear-wheel is afforded 5.5 (compared to 4.7 front and rear on the NineT). http://www.cycleworld.com/2015/11/19...torcycle-show/

That's a good amount of travel up front since this is an all purpose bike or more of it than the nine t

Unless you plan to do a few jumps with the Scrambler that 4.9 inches should be enough to keep you from bottoming out.

Good for the average rider, but i'll be interested in seeing what some folks here decide to upgrade to.

I think I'll leave it stock first and see how it performs on rough trails.

That's just about the best thing to do at first, getting used to it stock and knowing what it's like in that state makes you appreciate changes made later.

The only thing I have done on mine is lower the preload on the rear spring. Will also change the damping, but just a little.
